Actor Atul Parchure passed away at the age of 57. He breathed his last on Monday while battling cancer.
His death has left the film industry in mourning, which has triggered a series of tributes on social media.
He was a famous Marathi actor who worked in several Hindi television shows and films, including his memorable work on Kapil Sharma’s comedy show.
In an earlier talk show, he mentioned his cancer diagnosis; he said that doctors found a 5 cm tumor in his liver. In an interview, he explained the depth of the situation, saying: “I was told that there was a tumor in my liver about 5 centimeters long and that it was cancerous.”
But, Atul Parchure’s treatment had a very bad effect on his health, because he had the wrong diagnosis.
He said: “My first procedure went wrong after diagnosis, which affected my pancreas and caused many complications. The wrong treatment actually made my condition worse. I was unable to walk and had trouble speaking properly. In this situation, the doctor asked me to wait for one more month.
“They warned that surgery could lead to long-term jaundice or severe liver complications, which could put my life at risk. Finally, I took another opinion, changed the doctor and got the right medicine and chemotherapy.”
Atul Parchure was known for his work in both films and television, especially for his comedy performances.
He gained popularity through several projects such as “Vasu Chi Sasu”, “Priyatama”, and Tarun “Turk Mhatare Arka”.
His filmography includes films such as “Navra Mazha Navsacha”, “Salaam-E-Ishq”, “Partner”, “All the Best: Fun Begins”, “Khatta Meetha” and “Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap”.
